About Dr. Elizabeth Hutson:
Dr. Hutson graduated with honors from Southern Illinois University Medical School in 1993 and completed her OB/GYN residency at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona in 1997. She practiced both Obstetrics and Gynecology for 4 years in Santa Maria, California before moving to Reno in 2001, to join Dr. Netuschil and Dr. Naughton in a Gynecology only practice.
She loves practicing Gynecology only and feels that she can better focus her energies on her patients gynecologic needs. She is able to keep abreast of the latest advances in the field and spend more time with each and every patient. While she loves the education aspect of her field, she is also a great surgeon. She is very excited about the direction that gynecologic surgery is taking -- becoming less invasive with faster recovery time for the patients. In fact, many of the treatment options available now, can be done in the office.
Dr. Hutson is also interested in Urogynecology, a field that involves addressing the urologic needs of women. She was one of the first to bring TVT (a less invasive urethral sling procedure) to Reno. She is still currently using a similar technique to help women with bladder control issues. Her office is fully equipped to evaluate and treat urinary problems.
From seeing patients in the office -- to performing a hysterectomy-- to doing an in office endometrial ablation, Dr. Hutson loves the entire field of Gynecology and Urogynecology and continues to be excited about helping patients reach their goals. She tries to make every patient feel comfortable, educated and empowered to make good healthcare decisions. Dr. Hutson enjoys helping women achieve a healthier, more active lifestyle.
About Dr. Martin Naughton:
Dr. Naughton has been a leader in the field of gynecology, gynecologic surgery and urogynecology for more than 20 years. He has been a pioneer with respect to the use of lasers, minimally invasive surgeries involving abnormal uterine bleeding, laparoscopic and supracervical hysterectomy, incontinence and pelvic reconstructive surgery. Many of these procedures can now be performed in the office or outpatient setting reducing the need for lengthy time off work and reducing expenses. Some of the newer procedures that Dr. Naughton can perform in the office include treatment of abnormal bleeding, hysteroscopy, endometrial ablation, permanent sterilization (Essure tubal occlusion procedure) and treatment of urinary incontinence.
Dr. Naughton completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Nevada-Reno and graduated from Medical School at the University of North Dakota in 1977. He completed his OB/GYN residency at the University of Minnesota in 1981. He then returned to Reno and practiced Obstetrics and Gynecology for ten years. In 1991, he limited his practice to Gynecology to specialize in womens wellness and gynecologic surgery.
Dr. Naughton is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is a speaker for womens health issues and is a preceptor for many gynecologic surgeries in our area and throughout the United States. He is an awesome surgeon and teacher and is happy to share his knowledge and techniques with others. We are lucky to have such a gifted surgeon and leader in Northern Nevada
